The townspeople here are the only ones that tell you about the regi quest and mirage island. Also is another town with a unique gimmick about it (floating logs) which helps give Hoenn it's personality revolving around nature.

The theme of Kalos is four seasons and you travel from from Spring to Summer to Autumn to Winter, so they didn't need five exits. I think Lumiose has like 5 streets but they only bother to name four of them so they could've unironically just dropped one if they needed to.
