>>47330523Those ideas are reasonable. But yea it would definitely be hard to implement and gamefreak often seems allergic to anything that requires effort and very stubborn to change. My only thoughts on how to change it would be to reduce the range of ivs so its not as devastating to have bad or not great ones, or make them easily changeable earlier, (from what I hear sm and swsh made this possible, though post game and requiring expensive items) and make all stats maxable, just limit the amount you can max from 252 evs and roughly what like 30 points at level 100? To like 100 each. Natures I dont mind as much as they can really help mons especially ones that would never use a certain stat, but eliminate the ones like lax and gentle and the neutral ones, and maybe make it so it doesnt directly reduce or increase the base stat by 10% but rather allows the corresponding stat to either get maxed out more quickly or get slightly more maxed out (say 120 evs instead of 100)

I remember playing all of gen 3 and dppt and then during hgss realizing that natures werent just flavor text and learning about EVs/IVs and how they worked and being horrified at the potential both positive and negative, and horrified by own ignorance, yet also intrigued. Like you I couldnt stop myself from entering the rabbit hole and now I'm full autismo about it. It baffles me that for like what? 3 generations gamefreaks kept all this highly detailed and important information mostly secret and never adressed it directly in game.
