I fucking hate how togepi got shafted so hard after all the special treatment that it got. Togepi was literally charizard shill status before zard was even shilled hard. A prominent role in the anime, tons of promo material before gen 2 was out in the west, and they literally give you one free in the games. They even use the free mon to showcase a new feature (eggs) in the game (like zard and megas. But gamefreak in the sheer fucking incompetence shit all over this guy. Not even the cross gen evo helps this fucker did not live up to the hype. Really foretelling of how shitty gamefreak is at promotions/ shilling.
