Lets have an honest, non genwar discussion. With a few exceptions there are new hard pokemon games. Occasionally you'll lose fights, but even them you can train for an hour and come back and win. Even whitney is toast if you do that.

Theres only 3 exceptions i found:
Battle frontier emerald
Battle frontier platinum/hgss
Nuzlockes

I don't care for nuzlockes much, but the frontier is hard not just cause the obvious reasons, but also because you have to choose 3 mons that work well together.

For those who haven't played, the difficulty is:
>breeding and ev/nature training
>just attaining some pokemon
>knowing movesets
>having a team that can wall the frontier brains, but is also good enough to survive the rounds
>knowing you teams weaknesses
