Non-English dubbed Pokemon XY&Z was definitely my favorite, Japanese XY&Z was the peak of hype battles and impressive animation with an awesome soundtrack.

I don't know what the english dubbers thought they were doing but they replaced the badass metal guitar pokemon battle music with relaxing mozart style music.. was horrendous.

Ash was finally the closest he could be to an actual 'master' trainer in that series, he had all his knowledge character developmemt and experiemce from the past seasons. And wasn't an idiot like he was in Black&White

Sun and Moon was great for the first three quarters of the series, but the pokemon league just sucked. Didn't feel like an actual league with battle hardened trainers, just a bunch of school kids with the power of friendship. It felt like the pokemon league equivalent of the Little League
