The dexcut was necessary and unavoidable,it's just that gamefreak didn't compasate the absent mons with prettier animations or a better gameplay.

The "slowness" of DPP is the most over exaggerated flaw in the series. The only time I even notice is when I'm switching over from another game, and even then I get used to it pretty quickly.

BDSP won't be much worse or much better than any other Pokémon game.

It's because of that alone that graphics actually may be the most defining part of current Pokémon games

Nah, it isn’t. Even just scrolling through the bag is so slow that I go out of my way to not use items because of how annoying it is.

It was unavoidable, but not yet, it was very much avoidable now, and not necessary at all.
As for my opinion, I liked X/Y, because I have a soft spot for them since I played them a lot during my teens.

Dynamax is not something that should even be able to be suspect tested in the first place, and it's the final straw that turned showdown main formats from "Pokemon with house rules" to "fanfic meta".

Lowering the completion requirement to just the Regional Pokédex is a fun task and you can have that and have all Pokémon programmed in and transferrable to the game at the same time.

The only real counters were walls and switching around. Dynamax, from the time I played bss just encouraged people to bring sweepers and banded/scarf things without the costs.

You both have it, it is 100% parity. This isn’t like talking about banning Toxapex where choosing not to bring Toxapex could arguably make you at an absurd disadvantage, this is a mechanic that both players have at no cost.

No shit, it's never going to be unavoidable "now." The games add stuff incrementally, they're never going to reach a point where it's technically infeasible. But they wanted the policy change and a console jump is a logical place to do it.

Except that opened you up to reverse sweep by Dyna Ditto, and in modern meta you’d have lmao Regileki. The Dyna meta was never truly explored, just dismissed because it shifted the game away from pivot spam which plagued the game to this day but it seen as the “right” way for the meta to be for no real reason.

Gen 2, despite its glaring flaws, is still the pinnacle of the series because it is the last game to truly retain the intended literal actual soul of the series and I find this more important than QoL and bells and whistles.

Unova's "linearity" is not a problem, plus the games had been ultra linear since Gen 3 anyways. I think people just look at the map and ignore all the cool side routes and optional content.

Barely. I'll be so fucking happy when Dmax is gone in Gen 9. It's way better in doubles than singles but it's still retarded.

It definitely was. There were much less obnoxiously broken pokemon to abuse Dmax. The beginnong of Gen 8 VGC was fun in general. I can't believe I'm saying this but: I miss CritKiss.
