I like to think that in theory, fairies possess the kind of magical power that would annihilate a dragon, but in practise, fairies are total pansies would will never ever fight a dragon because they're easily intimidates.

Obv doesn't work that way in the games but I'm talking worldbuilding-wise. It explains why dragons are overwhelmingly dominant: their biggest counters are a buncha sissies who won't fight back.

You are overexaggregating, and most of the few Dragon Types who aren't dragons have a reason for it. Seahorses are called dragons in Asia for example hence Seadra and Dragalge. Flygon is an Antonio which are nicknamed sanddragons. Altaria is based firmly on a dragon, it just goes a non-traditional route with it.

Shitty type, unfairly punished for the outlier pokemon GF kept making for it. Non-pseudo dragons are some of the worst pokemon in the game, better only than Ice, Bug, and arguably Rock, with a barely usable type. And then gen 6 made it worse.

Terrible idea overall, stupid resistances, degenerate BST distribution. It's been harming the balance since gen 1, was attempted to be fixed several times, and all these attempts made overall balance even worse, like a fucking snowball.
