>>47343364I get where you’re coming from, but it was kind of a kick in the dick to go from the mainline games, where you can catch a pokemon to raise from a lowly starter evolution through the trials and tribulations of gym battles and story events into a certified league champion, to Go where you can’t directly augment that one Scyther you finally caught after weeks of searching.
Like, in the mainline games, you just start battling with the pokemon you want to raise. Go started out without battles available even though they were prominently advertised prior to the v1.0 release (yes I know they have battles and raids implemented now), and the only way to raise an individual’s level was to catch as many duplicates as possible, and grind up all but the strongest one into candy, them cram the survivor’s throat full of his brethren.
God help you if you wanted to raise a rare pokemon that you can’t find more than one of.
