Maybe it was part of their original range, maybe they migrated, maybe they were introduced somewhere - but they usually keep that name.
It’s pretty autistic to imply the Farfetch’d we know isn’t “Kantonian Farfetch’d” since it’s a safe guess. You don’t have to also use that name because it isn’t confirmed (and without context people assume it’s the original), but it still isn’t something to get a stick up your ass about.
