It's comparable to you going into a crowd full of people who are talking about level curve, Gym Leader/E4/Champion/Rival team composition and movepools, handholding, etc. and sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling "LALALALALA POSTGAME!"
If you wanted to go against the grain that hard, you might as well have said "If I wanted challenge why wouldn’t I just be playing online?"
