Similar to the anime with mini games plus a battle

Hell 2 of the gyms are battle mainly

Target practice watergun required and surf race not to hard

But that ice race feels like a DS/3DS stylist minigame forsure

Drakes god damned Dragonite maybe a re battle thing?

Type match up battle would befun (and tedious) cause you'd be stuck with only 3, but he'd have 3 pokemon for all types braking down depending on your mons

a survive mode where you got a limit number of items and you have to search the leader(like a forest or something) to beat his ass, the mini games idea is cool in theory but i think it would be out of place

Why even bother then? Half of them are battles and we've already seen target and racing minigames like pokethalon and super training in the past. You could start the player out with a solid block of ice and let them remove voxels to affect weight, durability, and aerodynamics. For example say the block is 25 x 25 x 50, each voxel would represents like 1 gram or something and have its own hp of like 10, as the voxel makes contact with the ground or an obstacle during the race it's hp drops until it breaks off hence effecting durability, less weight = go faster but you need enough to not only avoid running out of durability but also more weight is gonna get more acceleration due to gravity on slopes, and the smoother/more evenly the voxels were removed around the block combined with the overall shape will effect the aerodynamic properties of it, then just plug into physics algorithms to update it as the race progresses. For visual purposes render it with a smoothing shader so it doesn't look like a modded minecraft object.
