>defensive Pokémon with two double-weaknesses -You can give it abilities that offer a resistance to 1 of them like a Grass/Dragon with Thick Fat or a full immunity. Making a double 4x on with 2 abilities that covers one of it's 2x flaws gives you a nice 50/50.
-Give it way to keep a foe on it's toes. Like yeah you can switch into a on who has the move but what if the you had a move like Pursuit or the abiltiy Stakeout so that you can dent swith ins that threaten you. We can make an ability call "critical blast " where any fatal SE hit on the mon will give deliver it's current HP worth of damage to the mon that KO's you and then give it a high HP stat.
>Defiant on a special attacker.Works if the mon has some sort of physical Nuke and decent Attack stat. Lets take a Rock/Fairy mon with 95/120 Att/sp.Att. In Gen 7 you can do a set where by running Earth Power/Moonblast/Stone Edge with a Z move crystal if you activated Defiant you'd be super threatening since anything that tries to wall the EP/MB gets smashed with the SE and the Z-nuke.
>Or the myriad of slow defensive/slow frail ice types To be honest Gastrier's flaws is that it's ability is kinda bad since it's so slow. If it's ability was something like "physical contact moves do 1/2 damage + immune to rock/steel move+hazards", something to help make it's defense go farther. Regi Ice would probably go much farther if it was given a pokedex accurate "reduces physical contact moves by 25%, 30% chance to freeze physical attackers and is immune to fire" and adjsut it for the other Regi members.
>slow frail ice types Can't do anything about that unless you give it some strong ass priority.
