They're mostly not fully evolved mons. Accelgor is hard to evolve and is an outsider pokemon by default. Volbeat/Illumise look too todler to be liked. Kricketune and Pinsir are the only good ones to get, then.

They are boring and there are way too much of them, dual types only share properties with a pokemon if they have the same 2 types, monotypes do the same with all monotypes of the same type. Going for a mono water when we have like more than 20 fully evolved ones is duller and less interesting than another normal/flying type. Monotypes should still be made, but they are vomiting too many of them. You can come up with 153 different dual type combinations but only with 18 monotyped ones. We should get 1 monotyped pokemon for each 9 dual typed ones.

Also, offensive and defensive efficiency is not the actual reason, thats just a meme that most players will never take into account.

Most of the time it literally happens the opposite, pokemon that fit 2-3 types are forced to have only 1 or 2. You wouldnt need to change or tinker too much with designs of pokemon like ninetales or grapploct to make them have two types before adding them to the game.
