I stopped playing White 2 a few months ago because I got bored but now I want to start a new game and try to finish it and I have two questions. Do you like B2W2 and would you recommend me to replay it? Did you find the part highlighted to be a bit slow? It's quite some time since you battle any gym leaders.

I enjoy it for what it is, especially coming off BW, as for your question. It felt the same amount of length to DPPt and the length between the first and second gym leaders.

Yes. It's pretty solid as a sequel and the postgame is fun. I missed out playing it on release since I was in college, but I played it after the 3D era disappointed me and generally thought well of both bw and bw2.

No not really. It's the beginning of the game that's super slow. Castelia and onwards is great.

No. More time in between Gym Leaders is not a bad thing. If you distill down the game to "go to the next town, defeat gym leader" with nothing else, you fuck up the pacing and end up with a game like SWSH.

I don't want to play a short game like SWSH but battling a whole load of trainers who use the same 1-3 NFEs with the rare rival battle can get boring if you don't play in short bursts (although I usually play in short bursts anyway)

I stopped playing W2 because I wasn't fighting every trainer or really even training and I kept catching and adding new Pokemon to my team so I became underleveled around Opelucid and just didn't feel like fixing that.

But yeah, I enjoyed it up until that point.

I actually sort of prefer the beginning to Castelia but that may just be because I got lost in the desert for a while before finding Nimbasa.

If this was BW1 I think that would be a fair criticism, but BW2 has a healthier selection even in water routes.

I guess it's also important to consider that most of the game you will be fighting NFEs just due to the level curve. The flipside is that it's weirdly jarring to be in the postgame and see a Preschooler with a Lvl 60 Excadrill or something.
