I teach pokemon TM moves I like before wonder trading them. I can imagine the pokemon help other player defeat gym leaders if they have decent TM moves and if the other players haven't beat all the gym leaders or alola trials yet.

Every time I play gen 3, I catch a Nincada and try to keep it until level 25 so I can have a Swords Dance Shedinja.
I often end up dropping Nincada long before then. I have a bunch of level 21-24 ones.
