Noctowl as well others shadow Pokémon can be encountered in the center of Pyrite Town where you can battle like 5 or 6 trainers. The reason behind you didn´t encountered with it the first time is because the game does not force you to battle those trainers.

I admit that Colosseum even more than Gale of Darkness it´s kinda repetitive, that is the reason I play this game occasionally unlike other Pokémon games that I beat in 2 or 4 days. I got annoyed by the bunch of trainers that I battled before Mirror B in that LARGE cave.

this is the problem with colo and gale runs, the game itself is great and I love it. I just hate the fact you can't just use stuff you already own to catch em again, but everything else is great. Sure, I know you will say it is stupid because that's the whole point, but rising "catch mons" over and over for every run, is tedious. still, damn it gave me hope.

If you don't care about resetting for good IVs/natures you can get a Master Ball right before fighting all 3 legendary beast trainers in Realgam Tower.

Aside from the gameplay. Don´t you love the aesthetic of this game? For me it´s impressing that this is the first and only time that we see a darker side of the Pokémon world, unlike the others, Orre is a region with many problems and not your tipically utopic region, things that are a basic resorce in other regions like Pokeballs are not that easy to obtain here. Even the main character is a proof of that, even if he is not a bad person at all (Both of his Pokémon evolve by friendship so he treat Pokémon well), he was a former Saggem Team admin and he robbed many mons in the past for necessity.
