You can't ruin a computer by installing a new OS on it. The worst thing that can happen is you botching a BIOS update which is a different optional thing.

Windows is actually more likely to ruin your laptop than any Linux distro because it has this smartboot or secureboot thing that makes it a fucking nightmare to even boot your PC without the exact copy of windows on it, which is your failsafe for recovering any computer.

I don't even use or condone of linux anymore, I just felt like letting you know that if that's what you're worried about then maybe you shouldn't use windows.

The only thing that will be new for you is the USB stick with TAILS inside. You hardly need commands, you just boot up and click anything you want. Like a Firefox with TOR add-ons, a TOR browser itself, and so on. You can also download packages for things like Krita, LibreOffice, Latex Editor, VLC, and such. You don't need much more anyways and you will not leave any data left for Facebook, Google or Amazon.

I'll wait for reports, but so far there's nothing historically to make me want to early-adopt and if I can get away with it, I'll either have a better system to move to, or be able to get the new and improved version of 11 by the time I need to.
