What's the appeal of playing a new Pokémon game if I'm just gonna raise the same mons I like? Pic semi-related, already ditched Oshawott for a Mudkip.
No matter the Gen, there's certain mons I want. I see little point to go for Renegade Platinum after I beat Blaze Black 2, I'd be raising another Alakazam and Tyranitar

For normal games you could try playing a different team, but hackroms WILL require you to raise a different team for each gym so yeah there's overlap and burn out

Nah those really are Black and Platinum but harder. I see why that would screw the regular experience however, you'll have to grind like 8 teams + extra ones you like.
