I love GSC because it makes me warm and cozy and comfy all over and reminds me of dreaming of the calm Japan-inspired countryside of Johto in my youth as I rode home with my mom from school

I like swoosh for its QoL and improved gameplay mechanics bc I unfortunately contracted the competitive fag disease about 10 years ago and it’s genuinely easy as fuck to train for competitive in Gen 8

Last but not least I love FRLG because it got me back into the series after I quit for awhile because it was “uncool”, has its flaws and truly I probably prefer the OG Gen 1 experience but FR has a special place in my heart. The Seviis were a fun addition.

Seconding the GSC part, the Gen II games are very cozy. I've replayed those more than any other game in the series because they're so easy to pick up and play around in.

I love everything about Gen V. It's my favorite along with Gen II. The BW games have great music and a really fun atmosphere. GSC feels like home to me for nostalgia reasons, but BW manages to evoke the same feelings despite me not having a lot of nostalgia for it. The generation as a whole did a lot of interesting things and I have a lot of >>47392563
respect for it.

Blue was the first game I played but it was my friend's game and she let me borrow it for a few days at a time and I had to play from whatever point she was at. I finally convinced my mom to let me rent Yellow from Blockbuster where I was able to start my own game and I spent the whole weekend trying to get as far as I could before having to return it. I did the same with Silver when it was out. I didn't get my own pokemon game until my grandma bought me a blue Gameboy color and a copy of Crystal for Christmas or my birthday or something. I played it nonstop.

Crystal will always have a fond place in my heart. The music, the sprites, the characters (I had a crush on Silver). They're not perfect games but I really love gen 2.

Bumping for you OP, when I was younger and my Gold died, I became super sad because Feraligatr was my favorite Pokemon. I didn't have any of the N64/GC games and HGSS wasn't a thing yet so I completed the Emerald regional dex and triumphantly got my Totodile. To this day I have no face that I got Feebas on one of my first few tiles while fishing.
