I was working on this Pokémon personality type thing in March. Unfortunately, the laptop I was making it on got stolen when I was 70-80% finished with it.
It was based around the fact that any given Type can represent completely DIFFERENT personalities. Like Electric. You could say you're an Electric Type because you're impulsive and fast, or you could say because you're thunderous and commanding like Zeus, or because you're a brilliant inventor and luminary, or because you're twitchy and erratic like a Pachurisu. All distinct, but all make sense and are common enough plays on the Type.
It was fairly simple, each archetype had a name, a short list of descriptive words to get the point across, and a lil' mascot pokémon who embodied the thematic idea. Each Type had 4 archetypes, since that seemed to be the best balance and I was able to think of 4 easily enough. Each archetype aimed to be noticeably distinct from the other 3, yet they share some thematic ideas in common since they are just different interpretations of the same Type. And ideally they're thematic ideas you sometimes see in the Pokémon series itself.
I still remember a lot of what I had before it was lost. Here's what I had for Psychic Type personality archetypes for example:
>>>The Brainiac
>>orbeetle
>>based on psychics being highly intelligent, and the sci-fi elements of it
>>>The Empath
>>gardevoir
>>based on the fact some psychics focus more on sensing emotions, and deal with feelings and empathy
>>>The Starry Child
>>cosmog
>>based on psychic being a stand-in cosmic type, and the vaguely special and mysterious nature of stars
>>>The Master Magician
>>alakazam
>>based on psychic's association with magic, particularly stage magicianry and rpg magic
comment is getting too long to add all the descriptive words
I plan on remaking what I lost but for now.....yeah fuck that, I don't have the time. If you're curious what some of the other Types were you can ask I guess
