>>47404647What I've been doing is scaling enemy trainer levels up on randomizers so that the bonus bosses have level 100 pokemon. This is usually 25-30% and it works wonders. Your pokemon don't fall behind super easily since the exp gains are also increased, but trainers are actually stronger than wild pokemon now.
In general, in encourages you to go through the game with pokemon of a similar level to enemy trainers, which finally rewards you for having strategies more complex than spamming one of four coverage moves for OHKOs.
>>47404744This would be the other part of it. Look at Kalos teams for bad examples. They have very few moves, the level curve is fucked with or without exp. share and they hand you a mega lucario you can solo the whole game with before the 3rd gym.
I generally use shitty pokemon for in-game playthroughs (e.g. Wailord, Chimecho, Beautifly, etc.) but I also hit the check box on the randomizer that says that wild pokemon are replaced with pokemon of similar bst. Limiting access to game breakers also matters, because the Zinnia fight in ORAS is an absolute joke when you are literally forced to lead with a mega ray that can sweep her entire team effortlessly.
