"Quality" is literally defined by businesses as features of a product that consumers value and will pay for. You already know what this means for most people here. I don't think SWSH are a quality game, and I didn't buy it. Could not care less about the nat dex.

What you have to understand is that after Pokemon Go released, they switched their business model. They didn’t need to put in the effort anymore for long time fans when they have millions more idiot casuals

They've been casualizing the series since gen 5 (after Mt. Coronet was hard for kids) and appealing to nostalgia since gen 6 (after people complained about BW's dex) , Go just boosted the audience.

Not that anon but back during Gen 5 Masuda claimed that many kids in Japan found Sinnoh too hard to navigate and as a result they made Unova a linear region. I don't think he mentioned Coronet specifically but it could've been a big reason.
