I've only read gens 1-3, and I started 4 but never finished, not because it was boring i just fell out of it. I've read synopsis of 5 and 6 and they don't sound too, good. 7 seems ok but I haven't looked into it much yet.
The only one I hated so far was Emerald. I don't know why they didn't just let Wally take that role instead of making a weird new/ugly character for it.
