>>47427635>The US was full of religious loons in the 90s and early 00s who went apeshit about anything from Pokemon to Harry Potter being "satanic".And the fact that you can't even refer to any real scandals and just to "it happened" shows how little care there was to document such "history". At least Harry Potter had the benefit of referring to occultist iconography that indeed pissed of religious people. Pokémon didn't have that at all.
>It wasn't about "big notorious cases"It should be. That's how scandals are made. Why else do people still remember Jynx being censored, Uri Geller suing Nintendo and all the removed 4kids shit while "le evil religion attacked" is left forgotten to time? A real scandal wouldn't suffer from this at all.
It's just retarded. Scandals don't exist with just cherrypicked anecdotes (which people can't refer to either). Imagine if OJ Simpson didn't have a real case of murder, but instead, had a bunch of people quoting some tales about how he killed a bunch of nameless people nobody can remember. That's how absurd this whole topic is.
The fact that english speakers always seem clueless about this topic shows how blown out of proportion it is, if it ever existed that is.
