Is this supposed to be a defense or...? Saying the game is a goddamn embarrassment isn't necessarily meant to be a direct criticism of anything but the game itself.

It is worth noting that someone at Gamefreak signed off on and approved this though.

The 2D chibi overworld of the old games but the 3D battles and animations of what came after. The strengths of both styles without the weaknesses like the bad overworld animations of SwSh. You will learn in time that this style was the way to go.

yeah but the pokemon pinball remake is not what fans have been expecting for 7 years. and you know what? neither is legends. it would've been easy to make a sinnoh remake good, but it's gonna be much harder to do that with legends. i like the basic idea, but there are still many questions that i don't trust game freak to answer well, and i would've preferred if it didn't all come at the cost of the remake

Nah look at what happened to ORAS, GF is trying to divorce the remake expectations and create something unique which I appreciate so it can't just be 'but it's missing X, Y, Z' yet of course it can still wind up dogshit but we have a long way to go to tell.
