>>47435098>yeah I loved it when the gym leader sent out 3 easily 1HKO'd shitmons in a row, what an engaging battleLet's actually analyze this. The first gym leader does basically use shitmons, it's basically a type matchup tutorial, and pretty much the entire start of BW is the worst part of the game. For the second gym, it seems like they're using shitmons, but unless you go to the next route and pick up a fighting type Watchog can be a problem if the RNG is not in your favor. Burgh isn't amazing or anything, but I feel like that's more a problem with bug as a type, even though Gen 5 did introduce a couple good ones the gym was placed way too early for it to be a threat. Elesa's team basically exists to fuck you over if you decided to use ground types, which are plentiful on the previous route. Clay's team has Excadrill, one of the best Pokemon in the game. Skyla isn't to hard, from what I recall, but that might be because you get a good selection of electric types right before it and the game doesn't punish you like Elesa does. Brycen has problems because ice is a shit type. And the dragon gym is reasonably challenging, but you can handle mostly anything by that point in the game if you put some thought into it. Gen 5 also has EXP scaling, which keeps you from being too overleveled or underleveled, so it's a more even challenge than something like Gen 1 with minimum battles or Gen 8 which would be more balanced if they literally gave out EXP as candy. I'm also not getting into the lategame and postgame stuff for Gen 5, as that's not something you brought up, so I assume you think that things like final Ghetsis and postgame Cynthia are pretty good challenges at the very least.
