Scyther should have been Normal/Bug, even the dex entries say its wings are borderline worthless. It didn't even use the Flying type well until Dual Wingbeat was shat into existence

Slash, Swords Dance, Agility, Hyper Beam, and Double Edge not enough moves for you? Remember, this was gen 1 and not gen 5 or 8 or whatever where Pokemon get all kinds of coverage.

Now look at a world where Scyther is Bug/Normal. It doesn't have the crippling 4x Rock weakness and Double Hit is a better move for Technician. This is even before considering what Scyther's movepool would be with the type change
