It literally makes no sense to say it was done due to "laziness" or time restraints considering they literally switch back to models a few seconds after this, not to mention it takes time to draw the characters and backgrounds anyway.
Not to mention BW and XY literally do this as well and yet again I've never seen people complain about it. Why is it only bad when SwSh does it? Is there really that little else to criticize in this game?

BW and XY actually have a cohesive plot even if they're laughable at times. The worldbuilding and storytelling makes everything in Unova and Kalos seem believable and there's actually a proper escalation of events.
SWSH has neither a cohesive plot nor storytelling. The whole Macros Cosmos bit felt so out of place and lazy. This was just the shit cherry on top of the diarrhea cakes.
