I'm the same way, and it's caused me so much agony over the years but I'm never changing. Not even when I'm hurting myself by hunting 2 full teams of shiny Pokemon who all have a 87.5% male ratio in Platinum/BW2. Only 3 left between both games. Once I'm done with both, I'm doing it again in HGSS.

Yeah, unpredictability makes it difficult to do these hunts but pic rel is a reminder that I, too, get a break from bad RNG; All three were the first shiny in their hunt and back-to-back. I think I deserve it for having hatched that many Salandit.

And that is the story of how I got emotionally attached to a failed shiny hunt and decided to use it instead of what I was actually going for.

Part of the key point about it being a kid's game is they're not going to bother putting that shit in their games front-and-centre and certainly not because the western publishers wanted to chase the rainbow dollar a bit harder. but then again, that's WHY it's still a kid's game - to avoid having to put that shit in-game.
