Never dropped it as far as I know or put it in the washing machine. It doesn't make any concerning rattling sounds when I shake it a little, either. It's a shame because I used to get great mileage out of it due to my paper route in my teens.

I had an Ampharos trapped in there, and she's gone forever since I lost it years ago while my family were moving.
Kinda sad because I used to stuff it in a coat pocket or whatever every now and then. It was a fun little novelty.

You can recover the Pokemon you send there, they're actually just saved on the cart and the Pokewalker updates their information with what EXP they should have when you reconnect.
With that being said, I think it's down + select + B to do so on the Pokewalker menu.

Just push down+X+L on the connect to pokewalker menu and you can get your pokemon back.

These things were honestly really cool for what they were and were just interactive enough to keep your attention. I would often strap it hidden under my belt and take it to school. Getting rare stuff is always a nice thing.
