So maybe, Arceus created Mew to populate the Earth, and they evolved and adapted in to the Pokémon species we see today, or they evolved completely naturally, similar to how life on the real life Earth came to be.
It's still unclear where humans came from though. The easiest explanation is that humans also evolved from Mew (wouldn't that make humans Pokémon? What classifies a species as a Pokémon?), or they were created alongside Pokémon by Arceus.
Also, where did Ultra Beasts and other extraterrestrial Pokémon come from? They must have been created by Arceus because they couldn't have evolved from Mew, if they come from earth, right? My guess is that Mew was also spread out around the universe on other planets by Arceus, and Ultra Beasts and alien Pokémon evolved from them. This would explain why they all share the same inherent powers and have Types and special abilities, as these were all there to begin with, starting from Mew. Other planets could have all completely different metagames that evolved naturally. In that case, that would make Psychic the first Type. There's probably whole dexes of Pokémon on other planets that humans will never visit.
