But GF stopped innovating in meaningful ways a long time ago and went the safe merchandising route (smart from a business perspective, bad from a gameplay one).
What really needs to happen is for new mon collecting games to revolutionize the genre and challenge Pokemon's monopoly, forcing GF to innovate again or lose fans. Either way, it's a win-win for the players.
