Will we ever get a traditional Pokemon game from GF again, or will we be cursed to forever endure these shitty spinoffs and even shittier remakes?

Yeah, I mean "the same game"
The charm of Gens 1-5 is that they follow the classic working formula and are fun because of it
The weird innovations and half-assed new mechanics of the newer games are their downfall
What makes Legends unappealing is that it entirely strips Pokemon of its classic systems and builds a game completely out of the weird innovations and half-assed new mechanics, namely combining the wild area with lets go style encounters

Basically, go back to basics. Re-boot the series if you so will. There are too many creatures, there are too many gimmicks no-one asked for, too many useful features of the past have been neglected or removed, the quality of every aspect of the game have gone down as the workload have increased and the devs have gotten more and more lazy and un-motivated.... a simple solution is to simplify things, even if it means zoomers can't have their ultra beasts, or their ash-greninjas... unfortunately I doubt this will actually happen as the idea of essentially removing Pokemon is something they're probably against... but the series really needs something done.

In fact I would only add/alter

At least they’re innovating for once! Go play literally any other mainline game from the past 20 years.

What mechanics are even half-assed? Removing RNG cancer from catching mechanics is a vast improvement.

And the open areas were the only enjoyable aspects of SwSh. Fuck off with your shit taste.

A 2D game with a limited dex that would allow GF to pour everything they have into adding content and bringing their region to life. Like Johto Redrawn but 32-bit.

The only downside to this would be losing the ability to play with your Pokemon, something that really needs 3D to work.
