Well, you have Legends Arceus launching in January which is a very strange time to launch a game. Maybe they realized Legends was going to not make a holiday release window, so they outsourced BDSP so they'd have a holiday release for 2021.

It's possible gen 9 will come out in 2022. Then 2023 will be gen 9 expansion pass. 2024 and 2025 could be BW and B2W2 remakes. Then we'd get gen 10 in 2026 for the series' 30th anniversary like they did for the 20th anniversary and gen 7.

It's because of the chibi and that's it. BDSP could look cheap but still be praised like Dread if it wasn't chibi. That's most people's sticking point along with the too bright grass.

There is absolutely no way these are a "last minute" outsourced project, since it seems to be composer of brand new 3D assets everywhere. It just looks a bit ugly because it's that studio's first full game ever.

I think it’s also because Legends is a risk for them. BDSP covers any potential losses.

No, they're faithful remakes, if anything they got less dev time than other projects, due to them just having to redo Sinnoh and ship it, vs. every other remake which did something other than what the base pair did.
