I would love a FF15/7 style of gameplay, but because of multiplayer it would never happen and wouldn't be very interesting if made balanced in pokemon stats and not reaction. I wish TCG would be forgotten its never fun to watch anways

Yes, fucking yes.
Finaly someone realized this - competitive is actual CANCER on Pokemon, along with all the merch and side shit.
We could get DQ- or FF-level Jrpgs with cool monster collecting mechanic but instead we are getting low-quality shit for people eating glue that are more interested in buying plushies and cards and wasting 500+$ a month in Pokemon Go.

GF definitely tries their hardest to make shillmons good but where do the favorites come in? Isn’t it more likely that shit such as Amoonguss and Landorus-T just happened to turn out very good without some GF programmer loving them?

I'm sure there are thoughts of battle viability when it comes to their creation. I bet no one creating a full evo line or a badass design wants the dev team to give them bad matchups, but TPC for sure picks their favorites probably through in house survey and trials and thus GF has to make them good

You’re probably right about Amoongus and Landorus-T being lucky accidents. The favorites things mainly comes to play for stuff like Venusuar that Masuda considers his favorite Pokémon and just so conveniently happens to be consistently amazing, even being better than King Charizard.
