I was thinking about Kadabra and Bill. It says that Kadabra was once a boy with psychic powers. Bill fused with a Pokemon. I attribute that thing about Kadabra to urban legends and stuff, I don't think that really happened. But I suppose it's possible to turn into a Pokemon if Bill could fuse with one.
A lot of Pokemon are, or were (around the time of Gen 1) designed as characters first and then retroactively considered as an entire species of creature. Some anons have contributed this to the franchise's basis in Ultraman. I think a lot of the not-so-clear information in Pokemon is the consequence of it being a hodge-podge of different creative inspirations and intentions that were either - never fully ironed out prior to the release of Red and Green, or were retconned during development or after PokeMania.
One possible interpretation of what Pokemon are that I believe may have been considered at some point is this;
Pokemon are the result of humans transforming into monsters due to some sort of phenomenon that has not been documented as of yet. I believe that, under certain conditions, some sort of force acts on a human that causes them to undergo a metamorphosis into a different type of creature; a Pokemon. I suppose it's possible for this force to transform other creatures into Pokemon as well if Pokemon like Grimer and Koffing exists, but I think it acts predominantly, if not exclusively, upon humans.
I believe the forms that victims of this phenomenon take are influenced by humanity's collective consciousness. It's hard to put into words, but I think it involves Plato's idea of forms to some degree. I think that maybe this is why more than one type of Pokemon can exists. People are transforming into amalgamations of different concepts and ideas with recurring biases.
On the topic of breeding, I think the spawn of Pokemon are born as Pokemon, but have the capacity to maybe, under the correct conditions, become human. I'll continue on this in a new post.
