if aimed at teens instead of "all ages", they could have made the story a bit more like another jrpg would. there was a lot of potential with the subject matter (ethicality of pokemon) and it's pretty easy to see the subtle romantic tension between N and the protagonist if you pay attention and look past the stupid juvenile shit. there could have been more about N's obviously abusive/manipulative childhood upbringing, the cult-like operation of team plasma and it's members, more about average citizens questioning their beliefs about pokemon after the radical protests/terrorist attacks from plasma.
