Anyway this condition is called gender dysphoria and it's been around for a while, included in the DSM. And the main treatment method for people who have it is transitioning to that gender by way of hormones and surgery. Trans shit also has been historically a thing for a while in other cultures and has been 'accepted' to varying extents.
The problem starts when people who aren't neurologically diverse want to transition, or become nonbinary, or whatever. And when trans people's rights get in the way of other people's rights, especially women, when it comes to bathrooms and sports. Because then you can't come with the excuse you had for gay marriage like "if it's not bothering you, don't worry about it" because transitioning is expensive and trans women are physiologically far superior to women assigned female at birth and can dominate in their sports. You also have the weird Discord/Reddit kiddie predators that go after kids with the trans stuff.
It's a messy problem with no real solution until the culture lens moves off of it, I guess.
