Diamond & Pearl are the canon ways to experience Sinnoh. They are Masuda's ultimate Pokémon games. Platinum completely ruined Masuda's original vision, and is probably the reason why the games he directed after DP were part of the downfall (that Platinum kickstarted).

It wasn't a disappointment. People generally loved it when it came out, and still do despite the anemic efforts on this board to meme otherwise.

I wasn't a fan of the sprites since a lot of them seemed to be the alternate frames from the normal intro animations, and I was ultimately disappointed by the Distortion World.

But overall it's a pretty solid game despite me missing a lot of the cool postgame stuff, and wintertime really brings out that contemplative, melancholy Sinnoh atmosphere

Ok now can we actually talk about something bad about platinum? Like how some of the sprites are worse than DP or are just the second frame of the animation. I'd post an example but jewgle thinks I'm searching for DP beta sprites.
