Maybe I am fucking blind, but when I searched for "Shiny" I didn't see anything. Isn't there usually a Shiny Hunting Circlejerk Thread?
Either way I recently caught two shiny Pokémon. One was completely random, a Scatterbug in Y. I decided to try to catch some Scatterbugs to evolve into Vivillion and trade on Pokémon Home, I thought "hey I wonder what a shiny Vivillion looks like" and my second encounter was shiny. Disappointingly only the body changes and the wings are identical to the regular colors for your region.
The other shiny was a Mareanie in Shield, I had fought over 1000 of them and finally found one.
