Poison - I assume same reason as Psychic, which is that Ground just wouldn't give a fuck, and it made more sense balance-wise to give Poison another weakness rather than Ground another immunity (considering Rock resists Poison too)

NVE:
Bug - many can fly so similar to Flying type. However many can't, so overall it's classified as NVE

Weaknesses (you forgot Ice)
Ice - Permafrost

On the flip side, not only would ground-types be grounded in general by lightning, but lightning can actually STRENGTHEN the ground by forming fulgurite, which is sand and other loose material fused into a solid form.

Now as for how electric-types themselves are weak against ground-types... I'm not sure. Like, how does tossing sand on an electric generator disable it? I imagine that maybe grounding a lightning-type dilutes its power.

I think its more that there isnt really any types that could be effective to Electric types so they just went with the type that it doesnt effect. Thats why Electric only has 1 weakness.

No you retard, it makes total sense that electric is weak to ground. The idea is that it would be trying to use electric attacks to defend itself but due to the ground move all of them would immediately be grounded so they couldn’t travel through the air to the foe pokemon

Pokemon types aren't always based on things, it's a bit more complicated.
If you take a look at the type weakness/effectiveness logic, you will notice stuff like
BUG>PSICHIC
FLYING>FIGHTING
GROUND>STEEL
STEEL>ROCK
types aren't actual things, but abstractions. Buildings are build on ground, and depend on the stability of it. If the ground disrupts, the steel is damaged. On the other hand you can throw rocks at steel and most likely it will do nothing, and steel is used when crushing rocks.

No it doesn't, cockbreath. Mold grows through other materials which either get stuck on or around rocks. There is one lichen I know of that can actually break down rock to absorb minerals from it (an absurdly slow process), but other than that no, and if you think living on top of something is the same as absorbing nutrients from it then you're a fucking mouthbreather.
