Is there any reason Tyranttum evolves during the day besides it just being Aurorus's counterpart? I suppose the orange crest kinda looks like the sun, and you can kinda see the sun as 'ruler' over the primordial world.

Tyrannosaurs are overrated and can't cuddle. Herbivores are less aggressive and won't try to eat you (not as much at least). Also you could even touch her without issue, have fun being eaten by a tyrannosaurus.
