Nothing went wrong, the Crystal sprite looks more like what its official art was trying to convey

ive often wondered about this specific change. they probably thought the hands looked too amateur, but the color palette on the left is so much nicer.

Absolutely nothing. Some of the Pokemon needed to be fixed to better suit their current design. Though I do miss some of them, like Croconaw with the one spike flat on its head
