>>47511663No it isn't you mouth-breathing retard. Pokemon cards may be a "lixury" good, but the cards are priced way higher than they should be. The market is imbalanced as fuck and heavily leaning towards the sellers benefit. Hype and speculation are driving these prices, not supply. There are literally billions of Pokemon cards out there. Supply is never an issue unless you're looking for a PSA 10 version of a rare card. Even with the high demand right now from eCelebs, COVID, 25th Anniversary, free money from stimulus checks, etc, the sheer quantity of product out there does not justify the pricepoints being asked by most sellers. Part of the equation is the investment hype/speculation, which even normalfag sellers on Facebook Marketplace are aware of and taking full advantage of. Everyone has a "I know what I have" mentality right now, even if all they have is moderately played common garbage. There are no checks or balances in place. Sellers are free to ask absurd ripoff prices just to test the waters or because they actually believe that's what their stuff is worth. I've seen a lot of listings that I've been following which didn't sell and were forced to decrease their asking price substantially.
