I had a 4 mon team until Claire, ground a bit to get Heracross up to a decent level, and then beat her and the Elite 4 while underlevelled. Lance took me a couple of tries, but the only time I had to grind levels was for Red and even then I was able to beat his team with a team of level 55 mons.
