>>47511671I feel like we're talking about two different things here. People, no matter the age, appreciate good game design, even if they don't notice it. Let me put it this way, will Pokemon Sword and Shield be fondly remembered in the future? Maybe, but maybe there will be a game that sold less that's more beloved. It's not about what happens in the moment, it's about what happens in the fullness of time. Sure, by sheer number there will be a lot of fans of Sword and Shield, but despite BW selling the least there are constantly people who love that game because it hit on something important. All the fans of XY can say about it is that it had great online integration, and it does, but that's fleeting at best. At least with SS, you'll still be able to do raids over LAN, which come to think of it, that's probably the best ending we can hope for for it. To use another example, Classic Tetris is currently dominated by Zoomers, which I find to be really interesting actually. A bunch of teenagers getting good at some old ass NES game, it's bizzare and fascinating, but not necessarily surprising.
>>47511730>while angry immature children cry online the entry-level kiddy RPG isn't being le ebin adult-focused 10000hr extravaganza for themWhat are you talking about? Quality does not equal difficulty or even length (Chrono Trigger can attest to both, what a great video game). I fucking love Kirby, and that's the babiest game Nintendo puts out. I'd fucking love if Pokemon was more like Kirby. A super breezy main game, maybe with a little thought you have to do sometimes, but most of the meat being postgame. You've played a Kirby game since Super Star Ultra, yes? If not, go play Super Star Ultra, it's a great remake, a lot like HGSS was.
