I skipped most trainers because of exp share on my way tom him and then had a team of like 18ish mons and he completely demolished me. Hardest fight in the entire game.

Plenty of trainers with two Pokemon (Misty and Whitney come to mind) can be difficult if they’ve got a strong one in there, especially since they’re so early in the game

I gotta be honest, if you can't beat him, you're bad. Your fault for skipping loads of trainers. He literally has 2 fucking pokemon, both of which are first stage, neither of which are particularly scary considering you could easily have a whole team of pokemon with 400+ BST at that point. At least they both make use of their abilities though
