Also, considering how powerful Pokemon are, Amphy is probably brighter than any machine anyways. Either way, they probably do have a back-up machine (the reason why it isn't brought up is because they would still need to treat Amphy regardless.)

Also, there's no proof that exhaustion caused Amphy's illness since if it were exhaustion it would just need rest instead of any medicine.
