Romhacks with gen6+ pokemon are vastly preferable to the official games because of how much better the pokemon are as sprites.

caveat, even then, you can't salvage gen 8 pokemon because the gen 8 designs are putrid garbage that look awful no matter what form they are drawn in. the absolute limit on pokemon you can include in a fan game ends at gen 7. I don't expect gen 9 to be usable designs in any capacity given how shit the galar pokedex is

Ive only played gens 1-3, the remakes of those gens, and whatever gen black and white are. Should I play any of the others? I remember disliking a great deal of the pokemon designs I saw for newer games, and I really only care about catching and having actual tough battles. None of the dress up or storyline stuff
