What's the most reasonable way to get all the Johto starters within the gen 3 games? Clearing Mt. Battle in XD 3 times? How hard is it to do that?

They aren't in Colosseum according to Bulbapedia. Only in Mt. Battle in XD, and from completing the Hoenn Dex in Emerald, but doing that multiple times sounds horrible

if you complete the hoenn regional dex (not including deoxys or jirachi), you'll get a free johtomon from birch. save the game before you talk to him again and copy the .sav file to another folder and trade the starters to another game game of rse. you can trade with yourself over a specific version of VisualBoyAdvance

actually you start off choosing between them in the beginning. you just have to complete the whole game to transfer them over

You mean if you trade in the whole Hoenn Dex right at the beginning of the game, you can pick a Johto starter right away?

nah Colosseum just gives you a quilava, bayleaf or croconaw in the beginning of the game

Shit I didn't even think of looking that up. I was only looking at their pre-evo availability. Well I could use PKHeX to copy them instead of completing the whole game to transfer them, there's another possibility
